Joseph M. Kemp is a corporate lawyer and multidisciplinary leader with a passion for innovation, technology, fashion, gaming, and education. As CEO of Games That Matter, he created DISBARRED: The Card Game®, a legal-themed party game designed to make learning everyday legal concepts fun while giving back to students in need. He is also the CEO of JMK & Co., a boutique consultancy for startup founders and aspiring graduate students, and Of Counsel at Sun Law LLP, where he advises founders building cutting-edge companies and technologies.

A first-generation college graduate and American, Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, and civic leader, Joseph has dedicated much of his career to expanding opportunity and creating impact. He was the youngest appointee to the New York City Housing Authority’s Executive Council, where he helped advise on policies and initiatives affecting approximately 600,000 public housing residents across New York City. Over the past decade, he has also tutored, taught, and mentored hundreds of students while founding multiple companies and gaining experience at Google, Fidelity Investments, leading law and venture capital firms, and Fortune 500 companies.

His impact has been recognized by Forbes, American Bar Association, The Philadelphia Business Journal, Yahoo! News, PIX11 News, NYC.gov, The NYCHA Journal, SiriusXM, leading universities and law schools, as well as other notable outlets.

Joseph is a nationally recognized speaker and television personality who has delivered keynotes at conferences, universities, and professional events nationwide, with media appearances across television and radio.

He holds a BA from John Jay College (CUNY), an MS from the University of Pennsylvania, and a JD and MBA from the University of Michigan. He is currently a Master of Education candidate at Harvard University and a recipient of the prestigious Zuckerman Fellowship.

In his spare time, Joseph enjoys playing video & tabletop games, including his creation Disbarred: The Card Game; indulging in fashion; creating social experiences through his NYC-based networking business, JDs & Cocktails; traveling; and discovering new technologies.
